Pros and Cons

I’m a travel nurse and rented the upstairs room in this house. I’m sharing my experience so future renters can decide if it’s a good fit. Pros: Great location — very walkable to the hospital and downtown. The landlords take care of garbage/recycling, lawn care, snow shoveling, and upkeep. They decorate shared spaces for holidays. Cons: Their words didn't align with their actions. The main issue was lack of privacy. The landlord entered the house once with no notice, assuming I wasn’t home because my car wasn’t there. After I raised concerns, they agreed to give notice, but later provided only 50 minutes notice for a non-emergent entry and entered before I could respond. When I explained this breached the lease and tenant law, I was told that I was “only renting a room,” and notice wasn’t required as long as my bedroom wasn’t entered. I have written messages documenting this. My roomate and others mentioned similar issues. If privacy is important to you, keep this in mind.

Amazing house with fantastic landlords!

My husband and I rented the downstairs of this house for about 10 months and had an amazing stay. R the landlord and John the property manager are two of the nicest people we have ever met. The hospital is so close you can walk it in about 20 mins if that is your preference. It is also walking distance to the grocery store, a park, and a cafe. Whenever there was an issue at the property J would be there to fix it the same day. The bedroom door has a lock but we did not have any issues with either of our upstairs roommates. I highly recommend this property and would absolutely stay here again!

Fabulous place

Extremely comfortable and well worth the stay. Entire home is Immaculate and well cared about. The landlords are quick to fix any problems and are extremely friendly and responsive. I would recommend any traveler stay here. I was very impressed.
