Beware

The space is a nice. Neighborhood safe. A short commute to MUSC where I was working. However, I've never moved into a place that was this dusty. I sent some pics asking to borrow a vacuum which caused some tension. At the end of the lease, after 30 days I hadn't received anything about my security deposit. I text day 31 no response. Day 32 I'm told they're out of town and would try to send it, and I don't receive anything. Day 33 I text again that I hadn't received my deposit, and the landlords send a partial refund saying minus cleaning fee. I told them they did not notify me within 30 days per SC law and nothing in the lease. She said there should've been, and I didn't give a notice. The lease only had an early termination clause, and I sent an email before I signed the lease asking if I left at the end. She responded there would of course be no penalty. They are currently withholding part of my security deposit with no just cause.
