Needs Major Upkeep to be safe and liveable
Unfortunately, this house has not had the upkeep necessary to make it safe and livable. The fridge broke within days of us moving in leading to hundreds of dollars of spoiled food. While the landlords did work to quickly secure a rental fridge to put in the living room, it took 3 weeks to get our normal fridge working again so we could use the living room table. Then the dishwasher broke, and remained broken for 5 weeks - the landlord stated they used a warranty company and so repairs could not happen any quicker. We were expected to be home to manage all of the service appointments, which frequently interrupted our work day. There were many windows missing sceens when we moved in (they did work to quickly replace them when asked about it which we were grateful for). And I also fell through the deck due to rotting wood (I had also warned about this on the first day we moved in). The air conditioning is only in the main room, so if you need to work with a closed door during the summer, it gets very very warm. The house was not well stocked in terms of cooking appliances (we had to buy simple things like measuring cups, Tupperware, a garlic press, and a coffee maker that wasn't a Keurig). They also do not water the lawn or provide lawn service so the backyard was 1-2 ft tall weeds during our stay. After all of this, Mary charged us for very small incidentals upon moving out -- i.e. 14.99 for pet deodorizer (on top of the $200 cleaning fee). It just felt incredibly disheartening after we had been so patient with having broken appliance the whole time we were there, and even conducting a free repair for her (the door of the bedroom wouldn't close as it was off the hinge when we first moved in so my partner offered to fix it for free). I've rented numerous times on furnished finders, and rent my own house on this platform and this was honestly one of the most disappointing landlord experiences I've ever encountered. On the plus side -- Location is great!
Best pet friendly rental
My partner and I have 2 dogs so its hard to find a good pet friendly rental but this house is perfect! Its so close to everything like grocery stores, parks, and gym.
Big Comforts, Little House: A Travelers Delight
Attentive and respectful hosts the owners were very welcoming and accommodating. They promptly responded to any questions we had and respected our privacy throughout our stay. The area is walkable bliss, loved exploring the neighborhood and food carts near Woodstock! Coffee shops, parks, and grocery stores were all within easy reach, making errands a breeze. The property was tastefully furnished and felt comfortable and inviting. It was clear the owners put thought into creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The backyard is large, and fenced off, perfect for pets and relaxing. Overall we loved our stay and would highly recommend these hosts.
