Both Magical and Practical? Yes!!
Ruth's cottage is one of the sweetest places I've ever lived. From the moment you walk through the garden gate beneath the charming apple-tree arbor, you know you're someplace special. The location is fantastic-just two blocks from the beautiful parks and trails along the Willamette River and an easy walk to great restaurants, cafés, breweries, and a natural foods grocer. Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and the farmers market are all nearby. Every space is designed and crafted with love, from the peaceful deck in the woodland garden to the cozy living area, practical kitchen, skylit bathroom, and inviting sleeping loft. Ruth is a warm, responsive host, and the cottage has everything you need. If you're comfortable climbing the sturdy ladder to the loft, you'll be rewarded with a wonderfully cozy retreat. A magical, nature-filled stay in a perfect location!
Such a special home :)
Ruth's cottage was the loveliest place to live for four months! So cozy and functional, and truly such a special space. Being walking distance to the river path was such a treat. Ruth was a great host, so kind and helpful but never invasive.
Great Place to Stay in Eugene
My girlfriend and I have stayed here for six months and had a great experience. The cottage and garden around it are beautiful, Ruth is very kind, and the neighborhood is nice. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, and even though two of us were staying in a small space, we didn't have any trouble finding space to store our things. We would definitely stay here again.
The most incredible oasis on the Willamette River!
I was living here as a travel nurse for about eight months and adored every moment of it. R had the kitchen well equipped, there wasn't anything I needed. The river is a short walk down the street with numerous trails for walking and running. There are amazing coffee shops, breweries, and restaurants all within walking distance! I worked night shift, and never struggled getting rest during the day. Neighbors were respectful and it was naturally very quiet. R's garden is so beautiful to watch change throughout the seasons. It is such a unique place. It was so hard to leave, I hope to be back.
