Great place

The unit was really nice all around. They were accommodating and great with communication. The owner always let me know when they would receive my packages which happened a lot! The space is clean and tidy and the fully fenced patio was very private. We enjoyed our short stay!

Very comfortable ADU

I recently completed a 6+ month stay in this ADU and it was excellent. Very quiet with lots of privacy. The neighborhood is very safe and friendly - I took walks most evenings after work and was met with a lot of smiling faces. The landlord is super attentive and responsive but not to the point of being annoying! I was traveling quite a bit when I was there and he would keep an eye on my car and even moved it for me when they were doing construction on the street. Overall, I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a comfortable, well-furnished unit for an extended stay!

Fantastic stay -- quiet, private, safe, and modern

I stayed here for three months during the fall/winter and all of the existing reviews are spot-on -- it was wonderful. The home is located in a very safe and peaceful family-oriented neighborhood in Willow Glen (if you look up the address on crimegrade.org, you'll find that it's located in one of the safest areas of San Jose). There is always plenty of parking along the streets no matter what time of day (and even over the busy Christmas season there was still plenty of parking!), and like others have noted here, I loved being able to park directly in front of the unit, especially when unloading heavy groceries. The ADU is surrounded by a tall wooden fence that is at least 6 feet tall, providing ample privacy. The outdoor patio area is also spacious and has a beautiful set-up of string lights for night-time ambiance. The front porch light is also motion-activated (so you don't have to worry about getting home and fumbling to see thedigital keypad in the dark). There is a giant tree which borders the patio and is home to a very cute family of squirrels that you may occasionally spot running along the top of the fence :-) When I first arrived, the home was already thoughtfully stocked with essentials (laundry pods, dishwashing detergent, dish soap, hand soap, waste bags, etc.), so I could focus on settling in instead of having to run to the grocery store right away. R was very flexible and understanding with my arrival times an made sure to check in with me to see if there were any issues/questions I had after I arrived. In addition, R and his family were extremely accommodating and helpful throughout my stay, whether it was taking in packages to keep them safe for me if I was getting home late or dropping off mail. They were also wonderful in respecting privacy (I rarely ever saw them during my entire stay). The homes are also separated by tall fences and hedges, so the ADU truly does feel like its own "home." For those who are noise-sensitive like me, rest assured that the unit is *extremely* quiet. Unlike most apartment complexes or cheaply-built homes, this ADU: 1) is well-built and has very solid walls and insulation and 2) is in a very quiet neighborhood. I never had any issues with being able to hear neighbors' conversations through walls or being kept awake at night by loud parties. It is very peaceful and quiet. The photos also don't do the ADU justice -- it's gorgeous! The layout and design give it a very spacious and modern feel, and you get plenty of daylight from the windows and skylights. All of the furnishings and decorations are new, tasteful, and of high quality, and the ADU features modern luxury amenities (e.g., remote controlled ceiling lights and fan, rain shower, skylights, etc.). The bedroom has a full-length closet stocked with a vacuum, iron, blankets and linens, and Swiffer wetjet. The bathroom and kitchen have plenty of cleaning supplies, from disinfecting wipes to multipurpose cleaners. The bedroom also has a skylight that has a fully controllable blind that can adjust the amount of light that comes in (pro-tip: leave open at night if you want the ambiance of moonlight streaming in above your bed or during sunny days if you want to lay back and watch clouds drifting across a blue sky...). The desk and office chair are very comfortable, and for those who WFH, the internet speed averaged ~150-200mbps download with ~15-25ms latency over wifi for me -- I never ran into any lag issues while working remotely or while streaming HD movies. The appliances are all modern and high quality as well -- the washer/dryer are massive LG front-load machines that can auto-detect load sizes, and the kitchen is fully loaded with new GE appliances, including a freezer with an in-built ice maker. The kitchen is also stocked with pots, pans, colander, spatulas, mixing bowl, ninja mixer, tea kettle, toaster...plenty for home cooking. The bathroom features a spacious walk-in shower with both a rain shower head and hand controls, as well as luxury marble (?) wall and floor tiles that were quick to dry. In addition, thanks to the whole-house water softener, shampoos, conditioners, and soap lasted much longer and my hair was also much softer and healthier thanks to avoiding mineral buildup.Also, funnily enough, I think this is the first bathroom I've ever encountered that had USB charge outlets built into the under-sink cabinetry! The bathroom also has motion-controlled lights which automatically turn off after a set period of time of not detecting any movement. For heating and AC, the ADU features two remote-controlled Daikin mini-split systems (located in the living room and in the bedroom) which were both efficient and effective -- there are a myriad of settings you can play around with on the remotes (fan speeds/eco modes/etc.), and I never had any issues with being too hot or too cold -- the systems are the perfect set-up for heating/cooling the unit. The location is within convenient proximity to plenty of good food and shopping (Oakridge Mall, Target, TJ Maxx, Whole Foods, Lion's Market, many diverse restaurants, etc. are all less than a ten minute drive away), and the neighborhood itself is very safe and walkable -- you'll often see families and children walking, people walking their dogs, couples jogging, etc. For commuting to work, this location is also very easy to get in and out of -- since the ADU is located on a quiet side street, there are multiple routes to get out onto a main street and you never have to worry about being blocked out by heavy traffic. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a quiet, private, safe, and modern stay (with a very accommodating and respectful host/family located nearby tohelp with any requests!). I hope this review helps prospective travelers, and if you have any questions, R is very responsive -- he always answered my texts/emails within 24 hours, if not within the same hour, and he is very understanding and flexible (example: on move-out day, I was running behind on packing up my things, but R assured me that it was no problem and no worries if I was running late). my favorite adu!!

This ADU exceeded every expectation I had! It's my favorite place I've lived as a traveler. Everything was brand new and it felt extremely private. I loved the outdoor patio area, as well. It felt like my own little oasis. The layout was great and there was ample storage. The rain shower is awesome and feels very luxurious. All the appliances are brand new and the bed/couches were super comfortable! I loved being able to park right outside my gate as well, even better that it was coded gate entry so I didn't have to worry about carrying a key around. The landlords are amazing and were very accommodating with mail and packages. They also stayed in communication with me about important things and if I needed anything fixed/looked at they did so right away. This adu is located in a very safe & quiet neighborhood close to everything. My only regret is I couldn't stay longer! Hope to return one day!

Wonderful Unit

Very nice, spacious ADU with large front private front patio to relax and enjoy the weather. Clean and modern inside, big bedroom, great shower. Convenient parking right in front of ADU. R the landlord is a good guy and very accommodating. Highly recommend.

Hard to find a place like this... You won't be disappointed!

The unit feels so separate from the main house - it felt like I owned my own little property for a few months haha. IT'S PERECT. The arrangement of the house is exactly how an ADU should be built to feel like a REAL home. How safe I felt alone (when my boyfriend would leave to work days at a time) was priceless and is very hard to find - I'm a scaredy cat. There's just something about the layout & elements of the house that make you feel so safe and cozy! There's also a track nearby my boyfriend and I would walk regularly after work to wind down. It's quiet. We also had little patio to ourselves to lounge too! You'll have all the privacy you can ask for, and they were always very thoughtful about that. Oh - parking is right outside your entrance - you can't ask for more convenient spot! It was such a good experience to be housed by R and his family and you can tell they care about your experience! Highly recommend - you won't find a better place! It was worth every penny.

Awesome property, even better landlord

We stayed at this beautiful property for the duration of our 3-month contract and it was nothing short of amazing. The property looks amazing, inside and out, and all the appliances and furniture are brand new. The interior decoration has a modern and clean aesthetic that make this place a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The layout and spacing were more than enough for the two of us. Even the exterior looked great. Its in a great/safe neighborhood, and ample parking right outside the door. There's also plenty of lighting that not only looks fantastic, but is very helpful for coming back home at night after your shift. R was absolutely the best landlord anyone can ask for. He is friendly and extremely accommodating to any questions or needs we had and responds right away. He was always professional and expressed genuine concern for how to make our stay as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. We highly recommend this place, and definitely plan to return again.
