One bedroom home

Stayed here for one contract during the summer. Its an older home but it has what you need. Cant beat the price and the owners are very responsive and easily accessible. There are kids who play outside in the neighborhood but thats what KIDS do. Cant beat the price for a one bedroom home.

Bad area - property vandalized

Beware - This rental is in a sketchy area. My car has been damaged on two separate occasions after being here only 5 weeks. Property owner would not let me out of lease agreement early and repeatedly said Ive never had any issues here in 20 years. The police report begs to differ. Be safe if you rent here. One of the properties directly next to the house has unsupervised children who ride their bikes everywhere with another bigger, autistic child who runs around in his underwear and throws trash over the fence into the yard. The back yard parking is a grassed area with no light. A $200 cleaning fee was charged but the bathroom hadnt been cleaned at all.

I am in disagreement with the above review. I allowed you to move in a day early with no extra charge. I advised if you felt unsafe you could vacate the property after 30 days' notice per the lease agreement. I also stated to you on the day of the move in there was autistic children next door. On September 2, 2024, I called Roanoke City Police Department, and they verified for me there was only one report recently filed in the area, which apparently was your vandalism report, which does not label this area as sketchy. I have had multiple tenants in this property over the last 20 years with no issues with the property, neighbors or community. I am not sure why your personal property was targeted. Cameras were installed on the property, but no acts of vandalism were captured. As far as the cleanliness and upkeep of the property, we both inspected the property at move in and all was to your satisfaction. The property is thoroughly cleaned throughout any extended stays as well as after a tenant vacates the property. A brand-new dome light was installed on the back of the home to provide lighting. I feel I have been above and beyond during your brief stay at the property even providing an additional air conditioner unit since it has been very hot in our area. I am unable to control any random acts of vandalism.
