One of the most prominent symbols of LGBT activism in the world, the Castro has a rich history. The main street of shops and restaurants is a couple of blocks west towards Castro Street and nearby Dolores Park leads to the buzzing Mission district. Across the street is Noe Hill Market, a great neighborhood convenience store, with Molly Stone's and Buffalo Whole Foods for groceries.
A great stay, down to the smallest details.
I had a great stay. The view and sunlight are lovely. The bed is comfortable. The apartment is very nice. Lots of great details and modern touches, I was frequently surprised by the quality of everything. The kitchen, appliances, washer/dryer, are all very nice. It has the quality of a home that someone lives in and cares about. The host is truly an impeccable communicator. Your every need and interest will be addressed with haste. Couldn't recommend the place more highly.
:)
I enjoyed my 3 month stay recently. No issues or concerns at all. Mark was very respectful and easy to communicate with. The place is exactly how it looks in the pictures. Its hard to beat the location or having your own bathroom. Highly recommend and will consider living here again if I come back to the area.
Great Stay at Mark's Place at Dolores Heights
I stayed at Mark's place at Dolores Heights for a 2-week work trip in San Fran. Overall it was a great stay. The room was very clean and had everything I needed from the get-go. The check-in process was very easy, as Mark provided the code for the front door in advance. I also loved the neighborhood, which is close enough to The Castro for the convenience but just far away enough to avoid the noisy streets. The house is located in a safe and clean neighborhood which was very important to me as well. Mark is an amazing host, he always made sure to check in on me and ensure I have everything I need. I also really enjoyed our conversations in the living room. For the room I stayed at, it had a nice view of the hills and a private & spacious bathroom. The closet space was ample for me store all my clothes for my 2-week stay, and there was a compact desk for me to work remotely when needed. I highly recommend Mark's place for anyone who travels to San Fran for business or pleasure due to the great location & neighborhood, budget-friendly rent and Mark's incredible hospitality.
Great Accommodations and Location
This is a great rental placed in a great location! The room is clean and bright as well as the bathroom having many modern finishes, including a bidet. I also loved the kitchens modern finishes with the gas range and a large basin sink. M, the landlord, is also very accommodating for any needs you may have. It is also in a great location being in SFs vibrant Castro as well as a very short walk from Dolores Park, which is arguable the citys most popular park. A gym as well as a grocery store are also a few minutes walk away which was very convenient for me who works out and cooks frequently. There are also plenty of dining and drink options that are a couple blocks away. I definitely recommend anyone wanting to stay in SF to consider choosing this place to be!
great location
Great location! The house is lovely and near Dolores Park, as well as bars and restaurants. It is very easy to get around and a short walk to a muni station and bus stops. The house is full of light, clean and quiet with an in-unit washer/dryer which is not always a given. The landlord was very helpful and kind. I stayed twice, so that says it all.
great place!
I enjoyed staying here. The owner and the neighborhood are nice. I felt safe walking around the area unlike some parts of SF. Also, it was not a problem commuting. the public transit in SF is great and the apartment is close to different means of public transpo. I love the bedroom I stayed at. It has a nice view of Castro. I love that I have my own bathroom and that it has rain shower, bidet and heated seat. Would love to stay here again.
Upscale Residence in Historic SF Castro District!
This place should be in a magazine, it is picture perfect...the views of the city from top of the hill, the walking distance to the historic Castro district with shops and eateries open late, and the closeness to the city via bus or Uber ($15 approx one-way) but still in a safe and warm place, away from the noisy SF downtown. Most importantly, the place is premium upgraded. The toilet, the ceiling shower, the ceiling, the bed is heavenly, and the place stays warm. WiFi and Nest thermo are great. Only regret, I wanted to stay longer but had to leave for work. I will be back again! Highly recommend!
This is the best place you could ever live!
I have been living alone almost forever until I decided not to anymore and I started living with M. It is the most brilliant living experience one could ever have. Renovated, furnished, clean and modern house with upscale appliances. Everyone have their own bathrooms in this sunlit apartment, there are skylights everywhere, plenty of windows and parking spots available, and the list goes on and on. M is such a fantastic landlord and roommate. He is extremely considerate and understanding, accommodating, peaceful, and is a great communicator. He is also extremely smart and you will just enjoy having conversations with him. The neighborhood also couldn't be any better. Living in the vibrant Castor and only 5 minutes walking away from Delores park, yet having a really quiet room! This is a hidden gem :).
