$750 Deposit Withheld Without Itemization

Be cautious regarding the security deposit process. $750 of my $2,500 deposit was withheld for an alleged couch stain that was present at move-in. I did not receive a written, itemized statement or supporting documentation within the 21-day timeframe outlined in California Civil Code §1950.5(g). No receipts, invoices, or repair estimates were provided to justify the deduction. All calls, messages and emails are ignored by the host, R. I recommend future tenants thoroughly document the property condition before and after their stay and clarify deposit policies in writing.

Truly A Home Away From home

I was first drawn to this property because the pictures of the space looked so open, airy, relaxing, and quiet. Sure enough, that was exactly what it happened to be, and more! It's location is perfect, close enough to FWYS, restaurants, and right in the middle of LA and OC; the neighborhood was super walkable too! The unit itself was very clean, everything seemed new, and had everything I needed to live how I normally would back at home. My favorite part of the home are the kitchen and the double doors that open out to the pool and backyard. With the breeze, palm trees, and pool, something about it is calming and restoring after long shifts at the hospital. R, the host, was amazing! He goes out of his way to make your stay amazing. Super welcoming as he had me over for dinner and lunch multiple times and gave great recommendations! All in all, I almost felt like I was staying at a boutique hotel coupled with great hospitality from a good friend. If I'm ever back in town, this is it.
