Adorable 2 bedroom 2 bath home located downtown

I’ve stayed in this beautifully renovated 1919 home for six months while working as a scientist on contract, and it has been an excellent experience. The house retains its historic charm while offering all the modern conveniences you’d expect. It’s spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished for longer-term living. The property is exceptionally clean — in six months I haven’t seen a single spider or bug. Regular lawn care and pest control are clearly a priority and it shows. The property manager is responsive, accommodating, and easy to work with. The home is located in a quiet, historic neighborhood within walking distance to the library, park, and downtown eateries. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone seeking a well-managed, welcoming place to stay.

Disappointing Experience Would Not Recommend

Weve stayed in several furnished rentals, but this was the most frustrating. The listing claimed fully furnished, but it felt more like a cluttered storage unit. A closet had a weed growing from the floor, cabinets were packed with expired food and random items, vents werent attached, and the basement was dark, overgrown, and secured only by a 2x4, making it feel unsafe. We also faced a bedbug issue when moving in. The landlord suggested we brought them. Then landlord forced us to pay the $125 inspection fee to be released from the lease. We spent about $3,000 treating belongings and replacing what couldnt be saved, then had to move into an extended-stay hotel. The landlord was dismissive, and the whole experience left us stressed and financially drained. Bottom line: if you expect a clean, safe, truly move-in ready rentallook elsewhere.
