Renting
I had the unfortunate experience of renting a room from Astrid for 1 month instead of the 2 months. On the first day I moved in Astrid informed me that I can't eat in my room as a house rule, you would think that she would tell me this before I agreed to rent a room but she didn't. I wanted to move out on the 1st day, but I know how hard it would be to find a place to live last minute so I had to stay. Even though I didn't comply with the house rule, I felt really uncomfortable about it. She told me about a past renter cooking in the room, I guess that person also felt uncomfortable living there as well. I also had a feeling that she would look into the bedroom while I was at Cleveland Clinic to check if everything was okay in it, my suspicion was confirmed when I walked out after taking a shower and the door was open (invasion of privacy). Lastly, she only refunded me $200 of the $500 deposit because she said I only rented for 1 month and not the 2 months. She has no heart or sympathy. Here I am a medical student living with loans and could need that $300 for rent or food, but here she is living in a 3 story home and owning 3 healthcare businesses taking the $300 from me. I am posting on school's facebook to avoid renting from her and I hope anyone reading this post would becareful renting from her.
Room Rental
I had the unfortunate experience of renting Astrid's room for 1 month, but I originally signed up for 2 months. On the first day I moved in she told me I can not eat in the room, you would think that you would tell me that before I agree to rent the room but she told me on the first day I moved in. I wanted to move out that first day, but it would be really hard to find a room on the last minute. Even though I wasn't compliant with this house rule, I felt really uncomfortable doing it. She told me a past renter cooked in the room, I guess they also feel uncomfortable living there too having to cook in the room instead of the kitchen. During my month stay, I always had a feeling that she would sometime come into my room when I was at Cleveland Clinic to see if everything was ok with the room. My suspicion was confirmed when I got out of the shower and my door was open (invasion of privacy). Lastly, when I moved out she kept the $300 of the $500 deposit saying I didn't complete my contract of the 2 months and she turned away potential renters. She has no heart or sympathy. Here I am, a medical student living out of loans who could use that money for rent or food, while she lives in a 3 story home and owning 3 healthcare buisnesses really needing that $300. I'm posting on my school's facebook to avoid this house if they're rotating at Cleveland Clinic and I hope anyone who's reading this post right now would avoid renting from this place as well.
