Stoney Hill Meeting is a single-family, one and a half story house. The original part of it is the oldest *brick* house in Wake County, circa 1804, built as a Methodist meeting house. We call it the "house". Also on the property is the Barn at Stoney Hill, which is rented to one tenant. The owners live at a separate property next door, connected by a path through the woods.

WOW!
I had the pleasure of staying in this house this past summer. John & Heidi were awesome. The space is clean, historic (John will happily tell you), and just generally hard to complain about. The space itself is great, but the highlight for me was being so close to Umstead state park. Like walk outside and it is 250m away or so from the mailbox. It is also just a really pretty plot of land with big pines and a small pond in the back. Couldn't recommend this place enough to anyone! It's a steal with a lot of perks :)
The Barn...a true oasis
I lived in the barn for almost two years. When I told friends I lived in a barn, theyd give me funny looksbut once you arrive, the name makes sense. From the outside it looks rustic; inside, its a warm, comfortable 1BR home. Some of my favorite parts of living here: waking up to sunrise and trees all around; cooking in the fully stocked kitchen; watching weekend soccer on Google TV; working by the French doors while deer graze outside; walking the short path from the car and seeing rabbits and birds along the way; stepping out and being just a four-minute walk to Umstead Park; and being close to both Raleigh and Cary. And John and Heidi are exceptional landlordskind, responsive, and truly good people. Im sad to leave, but happy someone else will get to enjoy the peace and beauty of living at the barn.
