Misleading Listing and Unsanitary Conditions

Avoid this rental. The host is not transparent, and the unit does not meet basic standards. Though told it was "professionally cleaned," I arrived to cobwebs in the bedroom and a bathroom full of ants and poor upkeep. The "bed" is just a mattress on a box spring on the floor; no pillows were provided, and the comforter was heavily stained/unwashed. The advertised "kitchenette" is misleading, as the host restricted the use of certain appliances upon arrival. Additionally, there is no soundproofing; you can hear the host walking above you late into the night. Most concerning were the financial issues: the host demanded an additional "deposit" upon arrival despite one being paid weeks prior. I paid $1,000 for a 30-day stay, but the conditions were so unsustainable I had to leave early. The host has refused to provide any refund for the unused time. Do not book unless you are prepared for a bait-and-switch.
