Highly recommend staying with Rachel and her family at this location! Very friendly, accommodating people. Had a good amount of snow during my stay and they made sure I had a spot to park every time! It was great having my own private bathroom so I didnt have to worry about competing for it when getting ready for work. The room is one of the best rooms Ive stayed in. I had control of my room temperature. I could enjoy watching TV on the massaging recliner. And I didnt even have to leave my room to eat as the room is equipped with a mini fridge and a cabinet with plates, cups, knives etc! Very comfortable queen bed to sleep on too! Overall Rachel offers more than other places Ive stayed and would def go back if Im ever in the area again.
Enjoyed my stay
I stayed in Rachel's home for four months as a travel nurse. I was in the only bedroom on the main floor, downstairs. I had plenty of privacy and no problems sleeping during the day. I worked nights. Rachel worked during the day, remotely upstairs. Her cats were all very sweet and friendly. I would let them in my room on occasion, but I never heard anything from them while alone in my room. I like that the bathroom was right outside my door. when I was there, Rachel's adult son lived upstairs but was gone during the days, either at school or working. I also very much liked the fact that I could control the heat in my room directly to the temp I like. Rachel was friendly and attentive to anything I needed. If I ever work in the area again, I would repeat my stay with her.
Quiet home with 4 adorable kitties!
Hello everyone! Upstairs neighbor here! I have rented a room from Rachel in the upstairs portion of the house for over seven months now! Although Ive never stayed in the downstairs bedroom, I have shared the part of the house with more people and have found my experience pleasant. No one else lives downstairs besides the downstairs tenant. Her four cats are so social and lovable. Two of them love to come into my room and snuggle with me, purring loud when I pet them (Mittens and Baby, my two favorites). It definitely cures the sadness I have from not living with my pets back at home. The household is generally quiet, besides announced visits with family, which Rachel very kindly texts to the group chat that she creates with every tenant she has. Any issue that arises she deals with promptly and is very communicative about the process. Shes very generous with her space, her possessions, and even her food, which she offers to me often when she cooks. The other people who live upstairs are quiet during the day and night, and Rachel make sure to take her remote work to the secluded areas of the house, turning on a white noise machine to quiet her short sessions with clients. I am actually still living in the upstairs rentable room, and experienced living with the lone tenant who had a bad experience in the house. Im a bit confused by her review, since I have never had any significant issue, and any small issues are fixed promptly and without question. If it was due to my own activities, I can assure everyone here that I work during the day from 2 to 9 most days. When Im not working, Im upstairs in my room studying, as I am currently getting my Masters degree. The other people who live upstairs, besides Rachel, also work and study for their degrees. Overall, my experience living here has been positive and the house is a warm and welcoming environment for everyone.
Not what was promised.
It was a bad experience for me. The 4 cats are so friendly to the point of having to shoo them out of the bedroom every time I open the door. They scratch and cry at the bedroom door daily. I didn't feel comfortable cooking in the kitchen as the cats were all on the countertop. I was told this was a quiet home because the adults work and go to school during the day, which is not true. I work nights and expected it to be quiet to allow me to sleep,as I was told by Rachel. She expressed that only on Friday & Saturday morning would it be possibly noisy due to her 5 y/o granddaughter, not true. Then, after I gave my notice with intent to vacate in accordance with our agreement, I was informed of a family get-together and that I should stay somewhere else because it will be loud when I get off work. I had already paid for the entire month there. To top it off, coming in to find no heat one morning was shameful and appalling. My worst experience ever.
