Peaceful private studio in the redwoods

Solid Choice Overall

Easy to miss when you first get there. Look for the "arch" as I called its dimly lit at night. They've got animals. They have a really flirty cat, a rooster that goes off at any time, and you'll see highland cattle on your way up the hill to the house. There are also kids that play basketball outside may be a problem if you work nights. The chickens roam every now and then but Andelaine is good about texting you if they are out of the cage. The house is gorgeous. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. This is a landlord you have to go through quite a bit of paperwork for, also a different rent payment system as well (no cashapp,no venmo etc) and fingerprinting. I guess in the end it was worth it its a very affordable place, roughly ten minute drive either way to MRCH/St Joe's, and they are respectful of your space. If you're looking to do public transit you're going to need a car or find a place closer to the heart of Arcata/Eureka.

Amazing Spot! Quick 10min drive to SJHE!

Im a travel nurse working at SJHE and Ive been staying here for the full 13 weeks of my contract - and I love it! Andelain has been such a wonderful and welcoming host; and the space itself is safe, comfortable, clean, and quiet. This listing is accurate and its been such a breeze to work with Andelain! I would 100% recommend this spot to anyone thats looking for an affordable place and is willing to work around some minor inconveniences - such as not having an in-unit washer/dryer or full kitchen. There is a little kitchenette in the studio apartment that can be used to prepare simple meals, and its been super easy to coordinate with Andelain to get access to a full kitchen as well as use the washer/dryer next door. If I'm ever back in the area, I will be asking Andelain to host me again!
