Close to Beautiful Beach

My stay was good, and being so close to Kiawah Beach made it great! Betsy and Steve always took care of what needed done and even shared some homegrown veggies and eggs with me! It was always fun being greeted by the chickens and Will the dog. The commute in the mornings could be time consuming though. Now I have a new family in Charleston!

My stay

I would like to start this review by saying Betsy, Steve and their dog Will are amazing. They were gracious enough to share their eggs and fresh leafy greens with me during my stay. They were always quick to fix issues that would arise. This suite, has everything someone would need. It's in a quiet, safe area. However, every so often you might see a cockroach inside or a lizard running around outside. There are a couple grocery stores nearby. The closest one is just a few miles down the road unless you would like to drive. I hope you enjoy driving as any shopping center is about a 25+ minute drive away. Also, be prepared for traffic as John Island is mostly a one Lane road going on and off of the island. If you leave early in the morning or come home late in the afternoon, traffic isn't horrible however, be prepared for a 45+ minute drive just to get off of the island. If I could rate it a 4.5 star rating I would just because of the traffic, but the stay itself is a 5 star rating.

Convenient and cozy stay at Loo's Roost

Loos was a great place for me located about 25 minutes from my jobsite and close by to the residents was all my shopping needs and local places to eat. The open layout of the house was nice as I took full advantage of the full kitchen. The small fenced in area at the back of the house was great. Neighbors were quiet. They do have pets which are friendly. Honestly you would never know they had pets as well as they kept the property up and I never once had a complaint about barking or presents in the yard. It was nice during the summer having them leave me fresh vegetables from their garden as well. The nicest part was the price point for me. A full kitchen private backyard with patio furniture with a glass stone fire pit and privacy, all for under $60 a night was great. It felt like home for me. I had privacy convenience and comfort all at this location and if I am ever working in the Charleston area again, I will definitely be giving them a call for availability.

My partner and I stayed here for 7 months during a transitional period when we werent sure where we would live next. Betsey and Steve were super accommodating as our plans changed. It was comfortable and the perfect size for us and our kitty! Betsey pet-sat for us when we were out of town and even gave me flowers and a treat on my birthday! Incredibly thoughtful and understanding couple. Theres access to a washer and dryer. We didnt have to go to the laundromat once during our stay. The dogs are friendly and harmless. Our kitty loved watching the chickens through the window. Betsey was great at communicating. It was extremely clean when we got there and we tried to leave it just as clean when we left. It has everything you need! Its hard to find a furnished finder in the area that has its own kitchen like this one does. Were very thankful for our time here.

couple + 2 cats

I stayed here for 3 months on a nursing contract with my boyfriend and two cats. I worked at Trident Medical ( easy 25-30 min) The location of Loos Roost worked perfect for us as it is close to many restaurants and grocery stores with a quick drive to Folly Beach. Sullivans Island and Downtown King St also a quick drive. This property is in a nice, quiet , friendly neighborhood. We would go walking frequently. Pictures of property are accurate. I often stayed solo here and always felt safe. The owners love animals and will accommodate needs. Clean upon arrival and without issues in regards to plumbing, A/C during our stay. Patio area on side of house is well kept and provides a nice spot. Laundry is connected to the main house, but was never an issue. Parking was not an issue with having two cars. We were able to store kayaks on the side of the house near the patio as well. Would stay here again!

Hidden Gem - Close to Beach / Down Town

I stayed at Loos for several months (we extended our stay multiple times) as my GF was a travel nurse in the area and I worked from home. The Wifi / service worked well and I enjoyed the homes accommodations. There is several good nearby food spots and you are a short drive to Folly Beach or Down Town Charleston. The area is relaxing and quiet. We will certainly return when we visit again.
