Great Location...BUt

Read full review...please. This is a great location about 10-12 minutes from my hospital. Lots of street parking (will need temp permit if staying more than 60 days). The host and family are very nice and responsive but I think the bad outweighs the good. The noise level is high. I wouldn't recommend a night shifter to stay at this location. The host did supply a noise machine and added carpet to upstairs but some days the noise level was a bit much. The fees in my opinion wasn't as straight forward as other listings. From my memory the cleaning fee was $125 but the host charged me $250 as well as to get the couch cleaned. I was there for 90 days, of course the couch is going to have normal wear and tear. There is no stove or freezer but there is a hot plate. I would suggest doing a walkthrough with the host before renting via video and doing one at the end. I feel like $250 cleaning fee for a basement apartment is outrageous.

Thanks, for the feedback. I did provide the option to clean the apartment yourself for move-out or pay the cleaning fee -- you choose the payment option. Unfortunately, though I have tried, $225-$250 is the going rate in metro D.C for a deep cleaning between short-term renters (i.e. more than a 30 day stay). Additionally, I did not charge a pet deposit and this was a mistake on my part as the (very cute) doggie caused signifcant soil/damage to the pink velvet Joybird couch that is less than 3 years old. I understand the noise sensitivity. It is stated in the listing, like all basement units located in D.C. rowhomes, the bones of the house are 1920's so we will hear each other. My daugther and I do get up and go to work school between 7-8am -- thats a reality. I could also hear the tenant's doggie barking, or chewing its squeeky toy, or her dogsitter watching tv/talking on the phone all day -- but recognize this as a part of the deal and never ever complained about it :)
