Clean, comfortable, perfect location

Clean, nicely updated. We loved that our fur babies had a fenced yard to run. Ms. Michelle was very receptive to any of our needs. This was an excellent choice while in KC for my nursing contract. This cottage was just minutes to hospital. That being said, you will need to get used to the sirens. We had a great stay, and if back in the area, we will definitely try to stay at Missy's Cottage.

Clean, spacious, everything as expected!

I stayed at Missy's cottage during my internship Summer 2024, and overall had a pleasant stay. Pros: Clean and well furnished! Staying short term, there's everything you need, and had no issues with rodents or bugs. Extra towels and bedding for every bedroom. Fast Wi-Fi and good HVAC. My time in the cottage was super comfortable, and I never had any utilities related issues. Communicative and friendly property owner and manager. Any questions I had or requests were answered promptly and professionally. Adjacent neighbors are friendly and never had any issues whatsoever. Security cameras, and electronic door locks are a great feature. Cons: Street parking is not advisable for safety, and parking in the garage or driveway with a vehicle larger than compact may not be possible. Parking with two vehicles requires a bit of coordination. Right off of Highway 71 means a bit of extra traffic noise, but nothing crazy. Overall, Michelle was a great host, and I would stay again!

KC gem

Missy cottage was everything I needed while I was on my travel contract. Perfect location to downtown and local hospitals. Mrs. B is very personable and very responsive to anything I may have needed. Thank you for everything!! Anyone looking to rent this home will be satisfied

Nursing home manager

Beautiful, cozy 2 bedroom newly renovated property. A lot of thought went into making sure we had everything needed including dishes.

Terrible experience. Do not recommend renting here

Many issues in my stay starting the 1st day. Backyard was filled with litter, broken glass, and down power lines. The inside was dirty of mud & dust. Lawn care was suppose to be included but never done. I cut thorny vines & over grown branches, left in a pile I was told would get picked up but never did, sat there for 3 months. Temp got up to 80 due to HVAC issues. System had to be fixed and still the daily set temp was changed by the landlord controlled from an app, I did not have access to. Reoccurring holes in wooden furniture with concerns for termites but the land lord assured me "It's black beetles they are harmless". Multiple power outages occurred during my stay. The house has plumbing issues where the basement backs up with water. Pipes need to be replaced so multiple companies came out to give a quote and have plans to replace pipes by tearing up the yard and driveway. She sent a friend into the house announced. Gun shots, breakins & theft in the area are a daily occurrence.

Perfect home away from home!

I rented the cottage for a weekend to see a Chiefs football game. It was located perfectly by the highway and near everything we did including the Power Light District. It felt like I was at home. When we arrived, we were welcomed with a welcome kit with goodies and instructions on how to work everything from the alarm system to thermostat. It was super cozy and they even provided cozy blankets to cuddle up on the couch with. The home was super clean and a washer/dryer was provided, along with toiletries and clean towels. I definitely would recommend this home to anyone visiting the area and I also plan on staying here again whenever I come back!
