House description...
House on a quiet, safe dead-end street. Plenty of parking (which is unusual in Oakland). 17 minute walk to University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) and 25 minute walk to Carnegie Mellon University (CMU).
Exactly what I needed
Andy is the best landlord you will ever have. This house is beautiful and roommates were always quiet and clean. I had a great stay here and it was exactly what I was looking for!
Medium room bliss
I am so sad to be departing from this lovely home I now call my own little slice of Pittsburgh charm! I stayed only two months in the Medium room as part of a travel assignment at Allegheny Medical Center- and I loved my time there. Andy literally thinks of everything you could need & is always so responsive if you need him. I love that it's women only- I made a friend for life that I met living here. The house stays very comfortably warm, it is perfectly located from just about anywhere (I never experienced traffic while I was there) and the views from the porch are breathtaking.
Clean. Convenient. And great landlord
Just as advertised. Very easy move in. Landlord is great. Stayed for 13 weeks while on assignment. Street is quiet and I had no parking issues.
Well-maintained, everything you need at a good value
Stayed here for 2 months in the large room as part of my digital nomad journey across the US. I already knew I liked Pittsburgh, but Andy and his rental here made my time even better than I'd expected! First, this is a pretty good location, within walking/biking distance to campus and southside while being far enough away that it stays quiet at night. Street parking is free and not enforced. Second, it's just really well set up. From the outside it may not look like much, but most good Pittsburgh properties are like that! Modern appliances throughout, fast internet, plenty of space for 3 people, a great deck out back to just relax in, and comfortable beds. Finally, Andy is a great landlord. He cleans the place thoroughly at least 1x/week, is always asking about how things could be improved, and quickly responds to the occasional issues that come up. He was honest to a fault about the property and about Pittsburgh as a whole. Also, he will not hesitate to call you out if you're being a disrespectful roommate or making a mess, which is refreshing because it keeps issues from building up to something more. Overall, could not have been happier with my stay here! If you're not specifically looking to spend your nights out in The Strip or northside, you'd be hard pressed to pick a better spot
Small Room Review
Stayed for 1 month during september in the small room. Richard is a great landlord, always ready to help and very nice. The house is fully equiped with everything you need. I would definetely recommend the proprerty.
convientky located and great landlord.
The property is conveniently located near great eats, bars, hospitals, and schools. Richard/Andy is great, he comes in and thoroughly clean the bathroom and kitchen EVERY WEEK. His response time is less than 15 minutes, he truly cares about his property and the quality of furniture is great. The mattress is soft and all of the rooms are very spacious. He does have cups/ plates/ pans and kitchen utensils. U may need a blender, but he provides everything down to the toilet tissue. I truly enjoyed my time there, and you will too.
Great experience
I stayed here in the small room during my summer research internship at CMU. The room is really nice. Richard is always very responsive. It was hard to find housing for the entire period but he helped me a lot, allowed me to move into the big room for the last few days without charging more. I rode a bike to CMU and it usually took less than 15 minutes.
Small Size Room - Great
I rented out the small room for 13 weeks while I did my travel assignment. It worked for everything I needed, quiet house which was nice since I worked nights. There was always street parking available even if it wasn't directly in front of the house itself. Room was bigger than I expected with a great size closet.
Fantastic Small Room
A is a fantastic and responsive landlord. He is only a text or call away. I stayed in the small room for about 3 months and had no complaints. The AC is ice cold in the summer and the radiator heat is perfect in the winter. The walk-in closet has a shelf for your belongings and plenty of space to hang your clothes. The kitchen is well-equipped and the living room has a comfortable couch and chair and a big screen TV which receives local cable channels over the air! You won't be missing any Steelers or other NFL games! The deck is perfect for relaxing in the warmer months and you have a picturesque view of downtown from the corner and back porch. A washer and dryer are located in the basement as well as the famous Pittsburgh potty! Plenty of street parking is also available. I would recommend any traveling health professional or anyone needing shorter-term accommodations to check out A's place if it is available!
Review
Really nice, clean, well equipped place! Common areas are super nice too. Landlord was always a text away and answered all my questions. It has a deck which the sunsets look pretty (you can see a part it from the middle room too so bonus point if you book that one haha). Close to downtown/PPG arena (~9 mins in car) and UPitt (~6 mins in car/20 mins walking) but not close enough that you hear all the loud noises and have to fight for street parking haha I had move because I got transferred out of Pittsburgh but will definitely go back if I come back. 100% would recommend staying here.
