This listing is a backyard casita. The main house is a separate unit under a different listing. The only "shared" space is the back yard, yet it will feel private, since the main house tenants use the front yard and front patio. The main house is currently occupied by two consultants in the Tech industry who travel often for work. They are very quiet, respectful, and travel weekly for work (away most of the week).
West Seattle Gem
I recently had the pleasure of spending 5 weeks at this West Seattle basement apartment. For ease of reading, I will divide my review into three sections: location, home, host. Location: This home is located in a highly walkable, safe residential neighborhood of West Seattle. Within a 10 minute walk are Trader Joes, Whole Foods, two different supermarkets, numerous restaurants and shops, the Sunday Farmers market, and multiple bus lines including the Rapid Ride C-line which goes to downtown Seattle. As I didnt have a car with me and prefer to walk (or bike) virtually everywhere during the day, this location is fantastic. Note that I did not have a bicycle with me but could have rented one, though I would only recommend this to someone who likes biking on hills. Home: I rented the basement apartment of this single family home. The entrance is located in back of the home and can be accessed from either side of the house. Facing the home, the gate to the right of the home has no steps which makes transporting a heavy suitcase easy. There is one step down into the entrance of the apartment. The apartment is spacious and well appointed. The bathroom has recently been remodeled and features an ample shower and new washer/dryer. The kitchen has full appliances and all of the basics needed to cook. The front of the apartment (i.e., office area and living room) faces the backyard and has two full-sized windows. The back of the apartment (i.e., kitchen, dining area, bathroom, bedroom) face the front of the house. The kitchen is open to the dining room and includes two windows. The bedroom has no windows but for me, that is a plus as I prefer to have zero natural light in the morning. If having daylight is important to you, simply keep the bedroom door open. The bedroom even has a walk-in closet with a dresser. In sum, this is a roomy apartment that has been nicely remodeled and furnished that has only one step at the entrance. Host: Rebekah was an excellent host. She met with me within an hour of my arrival and explained all of the essentials. In addition, she was responsive to texts and made check-out easy. I give her a 10/10 and would not hesitate to stay here again!
