Above a Tree-Lined Canyon

The place was perfect for both of us as we were both able to do some creative work, some sight-seeing and visiting with friends in the area. Drawing on the deck was magical with the birds in the morning, the sound of the coyotes in the evening and the amazing surrounding vistas. I could sit there all day everyday. The master bedroom has a view past the deck to the lush hills surrounding the house. The room with the bunk beds has a sweet desk next to the window with nice lighting for writing, and the gurgling sound of the creek running nearby. In the evenings we cooked (the kitchen has everything) and sat by the fire. We got to see the owners a couple of times, lovely people who live below the unit. Youre in the country but minutes from Fairfax with coffee, boutiques, restaurants, movie theater.... but I was just as happy staying in the house on the deck with a birds eye view above the tree lined canyon. All in all it was a fantastic experience that I plan to repeat soon.

It was a pleasure hosting E and K, they were kind, considerate, and communicated well. With each interaction we had, they were open and friendly. Beautiful artists in their own right, they complimented me on my moms artwork which is hung throughout the house. I will be adding a wonderful painting and sketch to the art collection in the upper unit, kind gifts done during their stay, from our new friends who are more like family members now. I loved the fact that they enjoyed the multitude of literature found in almost every room. I truly hope they come back often to visit their home away from home in Fairfax, until then my husband and I send our good thoughts and wishes to Eleanor in Portland and K in Scotland. Travel back home safely ladies, we miss you already!
