A favotite stay

Hickory Haus was such a lovely place to stay during my employment at Meriter Hospital in Madison. The McFarland neighborhood is so safe and quiet and just a short drive (20 min) into downtown Madison. The house consists of four separate rooms with shared common areas, providing plenty of space - including a back deck overlooking a big yard with thriving bird life. The house had everything I needed and the landlords were so helpful and kind with any assistance needed during my stay. I would recommend this space 10 times over. :)

Clean and well-maintained and stocked shared home

I stayed in the Hickory Haus from Dec 2023 - July 2024 and it was a fantastic find. The house is set up to be traveler-friendly with four traveler rooms for rent. The landlords do not live in the house, but are easily reachable and great at communication. It has been set up thoughtfully for travelers with appropriate locks on the bedroom doors and adequate privacy, and there is everything you need on hand in the house (linens, kitchen supplies, blackout curtains, etc) and including use of a very nice large capacity washer and dryer. There is monthly house cleaning which is very good to have in a shared house. I work nights and it was a great house for night shifters, blackout curtains were good and the neighborhood is very quiet during the day. No issues during my stay, and the price was reasonable for a room and garage space. I would for sure consider staying here again if I get another contract in the Madison area!
