The Coleman/Lurie home was built in 1884 by builder William Coleman. It was both his home and showcase for the millwork of the day, much of which still exists. It has been owned and lovingly maintained by the Lurie family for 70 years, with the entire apartment recently painted by a historic homes specialist. The master suite has French doors opening from the bedroom to the sitting room. Relax in the sitting room bay window area...
Linen closet with 2 sets of linens for each bed, 5 sets of towels, laundry detergent, and dryer sheets. A walk-in closet in the master bedroom. Closet in the back bedroom. Front and back entrances. Kitchen pantry.
Across the street from OSF Cancer Center and the meditation walk path. Just a five-minute drive to the Peoria Civic Center, Peoria Riverfront Museum, Caterpillar Visitor Center, and the riverfront.
Nice place to rent
I liked renting here. She'd leave little things like magazines for us when she'd show the house. When the provided internet proved to be too slow, we were able to work out a upgrade to that to make work more manageable. When my truck broke, she loaned me an anvil and a hammer to beat some panels back out. She went above and beyond in those regards. 5 stars.
Peaceful
Beautiful apartment! I enjoyed my time there, especially since it was a short walk to the hospital. Celeste goes the extra mile to make you feel at home and is quick to respond to needs and concerns.
Convenient, Charming and Wonderful Landlord!
It's hard to rent a place from another state without seeing it and knowing the landlord. We had a zoom meeting with Celeste ahead of renting and she was great from start to finish. She really cares about her tenants! I can't speak highly enough of her attention and making sure my son had a great experience as he had a 3 month job and was unfamiliar with the city and didn't know anyone. Celeste made sure his bed and furniture was comfortable, and that he had all the necessities (linens toiletries, paper products, water bottles, cleaning products, etc...that he would need for his stay. She checked in regularly with him to make sure the temperature was good and that he was comfortable. She made sure he knew of the good places to go/shop and the places to stay away from (which, as a mom, I so appreciated!). She even had a basket with goodies for him and tickets to the baseball games. The unit was clean, well kept, secure and so charming. Thank you so much Celeste!
