Excellent Apartment
The apartment felt like home. The landlord was a great guy, and I rarely saw or even heard him unless I sought him out. As for the other reviewer who mentioned some lady harassing her, I never saw or talked to her. My privacy was honored and I was never bothered by people or sounds, not even once. The bathroom felt clean. There was always hot water, and an adjustable shower head. The microwave and air fryer in the kitchenette made cooking easy. The shelves provided plenty of storage space for clothes, books, food, dishes, and cleaning supplies. There's also a lot of natural light in the apartment, should you leave the curtains open. Barry is a very friendly, easygoing, hardworking and upbeat guy. When I had issues with the internet, he had it up and running again (full bars) within a day and even helped me with my car once! If you are looking for a comfortable and clean-living area, and a landlord who will give you space, but be there if you need anything fixed, he's your guy!
Invasive landlord
When I got in, there were facial shavings from the previous tenant in the bathroom, the glass of the desk was shattered, and the rug was full of hair and crumbs. Other than that, I had what I needed most: privacy. Or so I thought. A week into my stay, while I was showering, a woman I've NEVER met banged on my bathroom door and yelled at me to get out of the shower. Barry says it was his wife, that she does not like when he has female tenants, and to ignore her. A few weeks later I come home to see all my bathroom stuff in a trash bag and placed on the stairs. Barry said he needed to show tenants and decided to put all of my bathroom stuff into a bag - without asking or telling me! This is a violation of Texas Tenant Law and just really inconsiderate. After the incident with his wife, I was constantly being pro-active and asking Barry to let me know if anything I was doing was bothering him or his wife. He never said anything. Poor communication, passive aggressive landlord!
