House in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Landlord Tenure: 2 years, 4 months
This is a 100-year old classic South Philly townhouse/rowhome. The first floor has the living room, kitchen, half bath, washer and dryer, and access to an enclosed back patio. The second floor has the master bedroom, the second bedroom, and the full bath.
Philadelphia has a very European feel, and this home is a great example of how you can live comfortably in a compact space that has everything you need within a 10 minut...
This spot is a cozy one that packs a lot into a small space. The downstairs is great for smaller get togethers, and each bedroom can comfortably sleep two.
Wonderful stay
This cozy house was perfect for my month-long stay in Philadelphia. The house had everything I needed, though I have to admit I barely cooked as there were so many great restaurants around. The house is on a quiet, peaceful street, yet still in the middle of a vibrant area. The Italian market and shops and restaurants of Passyunk are very nearby, as is a grocery store. It's a 4 block walk to the subway but also an easy walk to many neighborhoods. I was always also able to find parking nearby within a block or two. Jacob was very responsive to any questions or issues I had and they were taken care of quickly. I had a wonderful stay!
Great location on quiet street
We spent a handful of months at Jacob's place and loved our time there. One of our favorite things was the street itself. It's tight - which was great because you didn't need to worry about anyone speeding down the road. We'd chase our dog around without worrying. The location is spot on. You're walking distance from so much (Angelo's, Mawn, Passyunk Ave, etc.) Street parking was never an issue either. The house itself was cozy and met our needs for the time. There was plenty of space to store our things and the kitchen had all of the essentials for cooking. The neighbors were very friendly. All in all, a great spot! Lastly - Jacob is such a great host. He was always quick to address any questions. I would highly recommend considering Jacob's home if you need a place to stay in Philly!
Great location, responsive landlord
This small townhouse is on a quiet alley in the Italian Market neighborhood. There's easy access to the Broad Street Subway line and several bus lines (I took bus #45 right to the Phillies ballpark). Restaurant choices abound and a good-sized Acme supermarket is a few blocks away. While you can't park in the alley, Capitolo Park is two blocks away easing the parking situation. The townhouse is old, and not updated, but it has everything you need. You can also clean it top to bottom in 30 minutes! Jacob may be out of the country, but he is very responsive. He has people in Philly able to make repairs quickly. Philly had some 100-degree heat while I was there. Jacob had no issue with letting me buy some thermal curtains and a toaster (so I didn't have to use the oven) and deduct the costs from my rent. Added bonus: the neighbors are nice!
Awesome Owner - Small Trinity
Stayed at Jacobs for 3 months and he was very communicative and helpful. We were trying to buy a house and he was very understanding as we extended our stay. The unit itself is very small, a historic philadelphia trinity. The fridge and oven are small scale. The street its on is awesome with friendly neighbors and young families.
Convenient, comfortable home
I rented Jacob's place for about 6 months before buying in the city. The house is just as it's shown in the photos, fully stocked with essentials. It is a small home, but very comfortable. In my search for a rental, I was prioritizing a reasonable and responsive landlord, and that's what Jacob is. We had minimal issues with the house, but when we did, Jacob coordinated the resolution. It was stress free from that aspect, which is so valuable! And you can't beat the location. Walkable to public transport, great restaurants, parks, etc. It is on a very small, no parking street. I saw this as part of the charm, you can put your hazards on to load/unload as needed, then park nearby.
Great furnished property!
Fantastic landlord who was very accommodating. Place was well organized and "fully" furnished. I didn't need anything. Very comfortable 2 bedroom with a bath upstairs that were good sized for the size of the house. First floor was nice sized living room with smallish kitchen but table and chairs to the side. Nice sized powder room at the back which was surprising but convenient. Wonderful newer washer and dryer there in the kitchen. And all utilities were included even internet. I originally chose it for the small patio off the back as I have two dogs. But really enjoyed the entire house. Great neighborhood as well. Very friendly residents. Only drawback was the small street with no parking, but I got a local permit and was able to park just outside of that street most of the time. I was in between selling and buying a house and the landlord allowed me to put boxes in the basement. It was a godsend as my storage room was full. Would highly recommend the house.
