Rental Agony
My rental Agony started with the landlord- Rosiland , the very 1st day because I used Lysol wipes to disinfect the apt. She asked me to find another place because she's allergic to bleach, Lysol etc and she only uses natural cleaners, which was not disclosed on furnished finder so I didn't know. The washer & dryer is shared with her and I must use natural detergent-which she showed me -the type she uses. I cannot use fabric softener. I am not allowed to use any scented products like scented candles. And I was okay with these rules. I never did my laundry at the house. But I drew a THIICK line when She told me not to wear perfumes . I made her understand that I will NOT STOP wearing perfumes & that was not negotiable.
She complained I walked heavily on the floor & woke her up at night- & she asked if I was wearing heavy heels shoes at night 3am. The apt is upstairs and she's downstairs. I walked on tiptoes to prevent further issues . She should not rent on F.Finder in my opinion. P.K
With her first sentence ( " rental Agony", oh come on now!) you can tell Philomena is being way overly dramatic to gain sympathy and make me look harsh.
The truth is I was always nice to her.even carrying all her bags and groceries etc. up the stairs for her when I knew she had bad knees.
I clean my own upstairs unit to keep my prices low so visiting nurse's can afford an otherwise expensive area to live in.Also, I keep my whole home perfume and harsh chemical free for my health and well being, ( read the end of my profile) and for the health of my family ( my daughter and grandson stay up there sometimes and both are very allergic to harsh chemicals and perfumes...
So imagine my surprise after spending an entire day cleaning her unit when Philomena hurried downstairs , a rag in one hand and bottle of Lysol in the other waving a rag under my nose saying" see what dirt I got off ( whatever in the apartment she cleaned)...
Between the Lysol and her perfume, I realized we were not a good match.
Then, when she came down again and said" is it ok for me to light scented candles in the kitchen?" I don't want to go to the hospital with my clothes smelling like food" I realized this was not a good fit for either of us. Everything she wanted to do and asked me about involved harsh chemicals and scents
I told her I did not think either of us would be happy in the arrangement, and it might be a good idea to look for another place. I told her she could stay as long as it took to find a place she liked, and I would pro- rate and give her back money for each day she didn't stay.
She was unhappy, because she didn't want to leave my low- rent place, so I told her it was ok, she could stay if she didn't wear perfume ( gets into towels, bedding, chairs and harder to get out than smoke).
She was incensed! Give up her perfume ? Even though it isn't NECESSARY for her health and it is detrimental to mine?
She refused.
As for her "walking heavily" upstairs, when she got up in the night and walked around ( of course, flushing her toilet right over my head at 3 am) the whole house shook and I thought it was an aftershocks. I have had 6 foot3 men up there who could walk without shaking the whole house .
I can't believe she thinks it is ok to wear perfume to work in a hospital where she probably encounters lots of very sensitive people who may be allergic to it. I also can't believe she is so addicted to this scent that it is " agony" for her to give it up for a few months!
