Vine neighborhood Cozy 2 bedroom unit

Do not recommend.

On arrival the unit smelt of cigarettes and marijuana. Open windows, air freshener and fans did little, if anything, to help get rid of the smell. As travel nurses, its not acceptable to go to work smelling as such. When the smell was brought up to Amanda, she stated she would talk to her tenents downstairs as she assumed they were smoking. She stated that due to the apartment not meeting what the contract states, she would refund us with a prorated rate of the 2 nights we did stay. We agreed, expecting the stated refund by Amanda, and vacated. She had people check for the smell (many days after we vacated) and turned rude and snippy towards us. Why would she immediately talk to the tenents downstairs about smoking in their unit and then negate claims of smoke smell? She then listed the place back as available without refunding us as agreed. Amanda does not live in the state and cannot put herself on the property to validate statements. A horrible experience with this landlord.

Awesome unit and location!

I found the listing for this adorable unit last min -- this was a great experience. Amanda (landlord) was the sweetest, very responsive, and super helpful with anything I needed throughout my stay. I was sad to leave, but if I take a contract in the Kalamazoo area again, I will definitely rent this unit again. Thanks again, Amanda!
