Would not recommend

Be aware: this landlord kept our entire $4,200 security deposit and claimed damages that were not supported by the condition of the unit. The furniture showed only normal cosmetic wear, yet charges were based on full furniture replacement with significantly more expensive items. My husband and I are taking legal action to recover our deposit. We have been renting through Furnished Finder for many years, and this is the first time we would not recommend a landlord.

I take security deposits and property care very seriously. In this case, the condition of the unit at move-out was significantly different from its condition at move-in. As documented with time-stamped photos, the upholstered bed and pleather bed were heavily damaged with claw marks after a cat was brought into the unit despite the original agreement. The damage required full replacement of multiple furniture items, including beds, frames, and a lamp. There was also extensive pet hair throughout the property and 12 bags of belongings left behind, requiring multiple professional cleanings and removal services. I itemized every charge, provided photographic evidence, and discounted the replacement costs by approximately 70% in an effort to be fair and reasonable. I also attempted to return a portion of the deposit. That offer was declined. I respect the legal process and am confident in the documentation supporting our decisions. I care deeply about maintaining a clean, well-furnished home for future guests and handle all deposit matters based on evidence and actual costs incurred.
