A perfect Oakland-area home base

Can’t recommend this place enough. I’m a traveling healthcare professional and have stayed in many short-term furnished rentals over the years. Dan and Catherine’s studio is one of my favorites. I lived here for 5 months while working in the Bay Area, and it truly feels like a sanctuary. It’s in a safe, quiet neighborhood in the hills, surrounded by forest with beautiful Bay views nearby. Hiking trails are 5 minutes away, and Montclair Village, Oakland, and beyond are quick to access. The unit is spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The slider between the bedroom and kitchen/living area is a great touch. High ceilings and natural light make it feel open and calm. It also felt like an exceptional value for what you get in this area. The only minor downside is no washer/dryer, but I found a convenient laundromat nearby. Dan and Catherine were excellent, responsive hosts. I’m very grateful for a wonderful stay.
