Home sweet home

I stayed in birdland basement for approximately 18 months and it was honestly so hard to leave! The basement is a cozy little nook. Has everything you’d need in a perfect sized package. Bed and sofa are super comfy. I’ve never had issues with street parking. I work nights, and had no trouble sleeping during the day. And the landlord.. Miriam is the best landlord I’ve ever had the pleasure of renting from.. so accommodating and respectful to your schedule. Happy to give you a tour around the garden when it’s season. Always keeping the line of communication open if you need her. Very quick to respond to any issues. The dryer broke and she bought a new one and installed it by the same afternoon! Just overall a wonderful experience.

Comfortable Apartment in Perfect Location

I rented the basement apartment for seven weeks in the fall and really enjoyed my time here! Miriam was very responsive and generous- when I expressed a desire to have a place to work outside in the backyard, she got me a set up with table and chairs. The backyard is gorgeous and I enjoyed things from the garden like fresh tomatoes, swiss chard, and basil. The basement apartment has everything you need to be comfortable, but of course there is not much natural light and you can hear footsteps of the renters upstairs. These things didnt bother me too much though, especially since the location is so ideal and there are lots of opportunities to be outside. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the apartment to anyone considering renting it!

Birdland is perfect!

A peaceful home in the center of the action! Miriam the landlord is a wonderful person (and gardener!) that cares about the community. She gives great tips for ensuring you enjoy life at Birdland, and the house has everything you need!
