Awesome rental

I rented this room from Jim for about 3 months this summer while on a travel contract at a local hospital. I cannot say enough about how great it was! I said at the start I was a very private person and he said I'll give you all the privacy you want - and was true to his word. He travels and was gone alot, but when in town often 2-3 days would go by without even seeing each other. The neighborhood is beautiful, the flat is walking distance to downtown bars/restaurants and if you're working at UAB, just a quick walk to there as well. The building is very safe, the room is peaceful and quiet, internet/TV dependable, washer/dryer, if you like to cook the kitchen is well stocked and he was great about always leaving room in the fridge for your stuff and welcomed sharing anything he had. I was sorry the job didn't work out for me because it was a really wonderful place to stay while I was in Birmingham.

Amazing Find in Birmingham

This is an incredible find in Birmingham for anyone looking to stay close enough to downtown to be a part of the city but far enough to avoid the noise and traffic. Jim Hooker is an amazing human who will not only be your landlord and roommate, but also an incredible friend. He makes sure you are taken care of during your stay and makes you feel like you are living at home! The space is absolutely gorgeous with a beautiful bedroom and fully stocked kitchen. Some of my favorite spots in town are within walking distance and nothing is far away from this location! Jim Hooker is also well versed in everything having to do with Birmingham so he will make sure you are comfortable not only in his home but also around the city itself.
