Not trustworthy owner

We rented this property for 3 months on month to month basis. We paid two months in advance plus $1000 deposit, we stayed only for one month and he rented the house to us outside this app since he didnt want to pay the fees, granted he lowered his price but the house wasnt ready for rental it was renovated but missing a lot of things trash all over the yard and garage full of construction trash. We took the place because we were down here from Orlando for my moms cancer treatment.we let him know that we were staying only the month of April and requested a refund for the following month plus the deposit he said he will issue the credit couple of times then he ignored calls and messages all together. As a recourse I disputed the charges with my credit card company.
