Great Place to Stay

I stayed here for half a year while on Co-Op. The basement maintained a good temperature all he time. The room was comfortable. The shower was hot and had excellent water pressure. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, utensils and even a Keurig coffee maker. I cooked often. The house was also very well-located, just a few blocks from downtown Mount Vernon, the Mount Vernon East train station, and also an easy drive to New York City. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good temporary stay in town.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this apartment. While at first I was excited, Donna seemed nice. Shortly after signing the lease I saw a different side to her. I was told that my dog who recently had surgery would be allowed to use the bathroom on their lawn, which shortly after moving in I was told she couldnt. Upon arriving at the apartment I noticed that it had been poorly cleaned (if at all) and there was no supplies to clean the apartment. When I mentioned no cleaning supplies none were provided so I had to go out and buy my own. You can hear conversations and foot steps throughout the day, I would not suggest staying here if you work night shift. The bed was awfully uncomfortable and there were crumbs in the bed frame. I found several insects throughout the stay, even COCKROACHES. Thankfully Donna did send an exterminator. The floors are peeling up and broken in many places. The bathroom is stained. Minimal clean utensils. The list goes on. What upsets me the most is the condescending tone that Donna thought it was ok to speak to me in. I have a registered support animal with appropriate paperwork. Donna did not mention a cleaning or pet fee, nor was it in the lease. At the end of my lease she wrongfully charged me additional fees. BEWARE of the money grab here. If I could give it zero stars I would.

FANTASTIC STAY

I have found the best apartment ever in Bronx! the apartment is basement but your very own, very quiet apartment, private entrance at the back of their house, Huge backyard to chill, very nice kitchen with coffeemaker, plates, etc you just bring yourself, massive bedroom space, drawers, super comfy king bed, huge living room with two big sofas you can fit 10 people! Street Parking is very easy and along bus lines...Huge Park nearby and close to main stores...Ms. Donna and Jose were the most wonderful people i have known, very accommodating, quiet, and was very communicative...I would love to come back over and over in this house...I had a blast!

Hidden gem in MV

Donna and her husband Jose were phenomenal hosts! They were very kind and accommodating. The apt was a Private studio in the basement of their home. It has a private entrance in the back of the house. It was very organized and clean. I was very happy with my stay. I would definitely stay there again.
