Warm, Friendly Atmosphere
I stayed in this room at Andrea's place for a few months this spring and truly couldn't recommend it more. Andrea has built a warm, positive atmosphere in the residence and is always willing to help or do what she can to make you feel at home. The room/space itself is so cute, and I loved the light that came in through the windows. It was a perfect location, just a short drive to cute coffee shops and downtown. This was the perfect space for my transition period, and I couldn't recommend it more to someone looking for a place to stay!
a practical, friendly place to stay!
I stayed at Andrea's house during Fall of 2025, during a rather busy period of time at work. The house is so well-managed, she is proactive, thoughtful and really wants to make her house a renter-friendly experience. The house itself is spacious, very clean and so full of sunlight. Her dog Stout also keeps you company if you are open to it, but he will also leave you alone if dogs are not your thing. The house is especially convenient if you have a car, as it is close to the airport, but also not too far from downtown and UT Austin.
Great stay.
I had an amazing time staying with Andrea. I was only there for a month, but felt very welcomed in the space. My room was exactly right of the stairs and I thought it was perfect size for me. I was doing a visiting rotation for medical school, so I was gone early morning and returned in the evening. Therefore, I did not feel like I had to compete for the bathroom. Andrea was very communicative throughout the whole process, which made the stay just that much better. I required a desk for one morning, and she worked with me to get those accommodations together. I would always run into Andrea in the common area and have great conversations with her. Andrea invited me to events, recommended amazing eats, and shared meals with me. She has a very warm energy. Stout is a small, mighty force who is super lovable. Professional cleaners do an amazing job.
Great stay, highly recommend!
I lived here for about four months and had a wonderful stay. The location is central, only 15 mins from downtown, and provides easy access to everything in the city. There is a bus stop within walking distance if you don't plan to drive as well. And if you have a car, there is enough parking space in the driveway. The neighborhood itself is safe and has plenty of options for coffeeshops, restaurants etc. There is also an HEB in less than a mile. The place is cozy, comfortable, and welcoming. The room I was in was well lit and has a closet and enough space for a single person. There is also plenty of shared space in the living room and the dining area to hangout, have dinner etc. There is a nice balcony and more space downstairs as well as a washer and dryer that you can use. Andrea is very friendly, accommodating and very responsive. I highly recommend this home for anyone seeking a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to live.
Oltorf House
I stayed at this house for about 4 months. I had a great experience here, and felt cozy and comfortable. The house is beautifully decorated, the lighting is fantastic, and Andrea is the best landlord Ive ever had. Theres a yard and balcony for some outdoor time, and the living room and kitchen are spacious and furnished. Andrea is responsive and on top of any issues that arise (there were very few). The bathroom is shared with one other roommate. The house is centrally located and close to the Town Lake Trail. Everything in the city is quickly accessible from this spot. I highly recommend living in this home if youre looking for somewhere affordable, cozy, and clean!
Lovely 3 Story Townhouse In South Austin
This room was exactly what I needed and Andrea is a lovely person and super accommodating landlord/housemate. I lived in the right room (when coming up the stairs) for just over 4 months and had no problems the entire time I was there. The rooms are located on the third floor facing the road, with big northeast facing windows (one of my favorite features)! The room is a bit small, but I don't need much space so I didn't have a problem with that. I ended up putting a twin bed in to optimize and used the other half of the room for a shelf of plants, a windowsill bed for my cat, a small set of drawers, and lots of cat toys! The closet is plenty of room (even for those of us with simply too much clothes haha) and came with a storage shelf inside which I utilized. Andrea has also been super great about offering storage in the Garden Room /Laundry Room downstairs and in the garage if needed. The bathroom is quaint but all you need! There is under sink storage and a hall closet for linens and towels if you don't want to keep them in your room. The living room is also quite cute and cozy, I spent plenty of evenings cooking dinner and then curling up on the couch to watch tv! All of the second floor shared space is comfortable and I truly felt right at home. (Also WONDERFUL windows!!) The fridge was split up three ways for us and so was cabinet space and "pantry" storage. Professor Stout, Andrea's dog is a total sweety-pie. He would curl up on the couch with me often and had no problems with my cat Bast when she was out and about. You may hear him barking to greet you when you come home or a bit after hours if Andrea is out, but she is also great at making sure he is being taken care of is she is out for any prolonged periods of time. I also loved the porch attached to the kitchen/dining room! I often ate breakfast out there in the warmer months and have since spent time drinking a cup of tea there in the afternoons now that the weather is a bit chillier. I really do not have any complaints. This housing situation was all I could have asked for after a few too many attempts with apartments leading to drama and horror stories! Thanks again Andrea! I will let you know if I'm visiting Austin again and we should grab coffee or go climbing.
