Terrible Experience - BEWARE - this house is not fit for rent

My husband and I originally planned to stay at this property for the month of February 2026. On day one, the furnace failed, the septic alarm sounded continuously, and the mechanical key locks did not work properly. We experienced workers in the premises on 5 of the 7 days we stayed. Because the locks did not work properly, we had to leave the house unlocked for those 7 days. The septic alarm was resolved by a worker by simply turning it off, leaving us cautious of using water, the shower, or toilets for fear of a backup. Septic alarms exist to give warning before a major failure. Because these issues were not resolved within a reasonable time, and we could not safely remain in the home and were forced to leave early and secure alternative, safe housing. Since leaving, we've asked for a refund for the unused portion of our stay. Seemed reasonable to us. The landlord has been unresponsive. I cannot recommend that anyone engage with this landlord or stay at this property.
