Rent at your own risk

I caution anyone seeing this from renting with Carol. We rented the main unit that this attaches to in January of 2025 and had a terrible experience. After we agreed on rent and signed our lease she called us a few days later and demanded that we raise the amount that we were paying by 200 dollars or she would terminate the lease because 'after she had thought about it the amount she had agreed to before seemed too low' She also constantly was coming into the apartment after we moved in to use the printer, pick up some stuff she had left in the room, or to use the washer and dryer. The place was not fully furnished as we only had one plate which we had to share. To cap it all off she refused to return our full security deposit claiming a need for cleaning fees and an "application fee" which she had not disclosed during our move in. We have never had a landlord with this many issues I recommend avoiding her and any of her properties.

Predatory Landlord - Messy House

1. AFTER wed signed the lease Carol said we couldnt move in unless we paid her hundreds of dollars more. We should have cut and run here but wasnt enough time to find another place. 2. She postponed the move in time twice. Each less than 6hrs notice. 3. If you rent from this property it is not the entire property. She is renting the third bedroom and separating it from the kitchen by a sheet of plywood. 4. Although she has not followed legal procedure to retain the majority of our security deposit, she is withholding it. 5. She kept coming back to the house. To board up a closet, to take something she forgot or to print something. We had to tell her she had to limit her visits. 6. The place was not fully furnished, there was only one plate for us to use. When we reached out to her, she confirmed that was it and then came the next week to take more pots and pans. 7. Emailed us we were not allowed to use the lights during the day house rules.
