The apartment is WITHIN my home, a mom-in-law suite. As you come in the front door, the little apartment is the door on your right. It has all the perks a traveling nurse or a grad student studying at the labs need: Private bathroom, small kitchenette with a sink, a small stove, and a small fridge. and a microwave, toaster and a coffee maker. You'll be using the front door, which I rarely use.

The mom-in-law suite has a kitchenette similar to what you would find in an RV: a small sink, 2 burner stove, and a small fridge. Private bath with a tub and a shower. Sunny Rooms! The bedroom has a full sized bed and black out curtains and a ROKU TV. Suite is located in the front of the house, and it faces the street. Tenant gets 2 keys, one to the front door, the other to the suite itself. Park right in front of the hous...
Mother-in-Law suite with all the perks of a hotel room in a quiet Oak Ridge Neighborhood on top of a hill, less than a mile from Methodist Medical Center. Almost always room to park right in front of the house. Park with playground and track just a 5 minute walk away. Note: This is not the ENTIRE house, just a small apartment within my home.
Amazing Host, Great Place!
I think I was so lucky to find this place for my summer internship. Suzanne is an amazing and caring host who always made sure amenities were working. Her cat Fifi is so friendly and sweet. Makes you feel very at home. The price was good and I opted to get a biweekly cleaning service which was amazing. Clean and spacious unit. Private bathroom was great with hot water, mini kitchen was good with all the tools you need! AC was blasting well every hot day, fan is a good option for rainy days. Plenty of street parking, 7min to Y12 and 7min to laundromat. Plenty of good food options too. Really good location.
Simple and Clean
The apartment was simple and clean, furnished with everything you need. The landlord was very informative and polite. The convenience is outstanding close to everything!!!! Would definitely recommend to anyone!!!

I am thankful for the opportunity I had to stay here. Suzanne was always very responsive, checked in to make sure everything was ok, communicated well, and made sure I had a quiet and private stay. The suite area had everything I needed, a little kitchen area, a chair to recline and relax in, a comfy bed, along with a bathroom/shower. The neighborhood was quiet, parking was never an issue for me, and there are a few greenway trails within close distance to enjoy a quiet walk in the woods.
Review
I had an overall positive experience with my stay here. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet, and parking was always available. The space itself is small, but more than enough room for one person and included a private bathroom. The place was well taken care of, and I had the option to pay for cleaning services halfway through my stay. The landlord was kind enough to watch my car when I traveled out of town during my stay.
Interesting stay and not in a good way...
The other review is a AI. Suzanne entered our residence more than once with zero notice which is illegal unless in case of emergency and neither time was emergent. When this was brought up to her by my wife, she threatened to evict us in retaliation. We were late on the rent but she had already agreed to accept double the late fee. She plays her TV until late at night and is up at 5am talking loudly to her account. After being threatened with eviction for pointing out her breaking the law, we decided to move out sooner than agreed. We no longer felt especially since she was allowing herself into our space whenever she felt.
An amazing place to stay!
I was in Oak Ridge for a summer internship for three months and I found it quite difficult to find places in the area that do short-term rentals, but boy am I glad to have found this place! The suite itself is very nice and suitable for a single individual. The suite is accessible through the front door which the owner doesn't use often. As such, that section of the house is essentially your own and I found this privacy quite nice. That said, the owner is great! They are really friendly and super responsive to any concerns that arise. At some point during the middle of my stay, the existing air conditioner in the unit started making strange noises. I let the owner know and within 3 days a replacement they had installed a replacement. On that note, in terms of appliances, an air conditioner, a fridge, a stovetop, a coffee maker, a microwave, and a toaster were all available when I got to the place. There's no oven in the unit but it didn't bother me much when I was there. There is also a washer and a dryer that you can use in the main house. You just have to coordinate with the owner when you want to use it. The surrounding area is nice. A very suburb-y vibe and sufficiently far enough away from the (already quiet) hustle-and-bustle of Oak Ridge itself. If you prefer peace and quiet, this is definitely a place to find it. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a short-term rental in the Oak Ridge area. For the price, I was extremely happy with everything that I got.
