Healthcare traveler here. Just my experience... I was in the home thirty minutes after driving 14 hours. The home was empty on arrival. The male house dog was sexually aggressive towards my female dog. My dog is used to male dog behavior but was getting irritated rather quickly. I also saw a rodent, not sure if mouse or rat. Called owner thirty minutes after I left and stated those reason for why I could not stay. Homeowner was understanding to the situation with the dog but stated she is unaware of any rodents and that no other tenant had mentioned anything to her. She kept the full deposit and prorated the rest of the month and kept that as well. While that may be legally justified ,I found that highly distasteful and in poor form considering the circumstances. I dont think she was malicious by any means. She did what SHE felt was right and legally justified. If you have animals or are wary of pests, take this experience as you will.
