I’ve been a traveler for over 3 yrs and this is the worst housing situation I’ve experienced. The unit itself is not at all as pictured. Hardly any of the furniture shown is still in the unit—which was not communicated to us prior. It was disgusting upon move-in (plates of half-eaten food in the fridge, beds stripped, random stuff/trash piled into corners, etc). The only reason we didn’t leave move-in day was because he told us to keep half of the first month’s rent/lowered rent for the rest of our stay—which ended up being a mistake. There were constant issues with the apartment that would take weeks to fix. We went without a working bathroom sink for almost 3 weeks because he is extremely hard to reach and has no sense of urgency. Now, over 6 weeks after leaving, he still hasn’t returned our security deposit despite multiple promises and excuses. He owns multiple properties in & around Portland and simply does not care what condition they’re in.
