Kailua, the once-sleepy community on Oahus Windward Side, is most often associated with its beaches. And we get it. Kailua and Lanikai beaches are world-renowned, luring thousands of visitors every year with their golden sands and aquamarine waters.

This house is very quirky (in a good way). I stayed here for a month in Q1 2025, and when I arrived things were not as advertized. There was a broom but no dustpan, a knife block but no cutting board, one dinner plate, no microwave, no dishwasher (and the hot water was more like lukewarm), no ironing board. You get the picture. While the floors, linens and towels were clean when I arrived, the whole place needs a major, deep clean. The inside of the dresser was full of dust as were things like the ceiling fan blades. There is no table to eat at; the kitchen has a small counter but no stools so if you don't mind standing, this is the place for you. The upstairs balcony is awesome, however. I had a buy a number of kitchen items to make this property livable for a month, and the landlords did reimburse me in a timely manner. This house shares the property with a larger home, and as a companion to the larger home, I think it might work.
