Unprofessional Bait and Switch

I would strongly caution anyone considering renting this property. I signed a lease and paid a deposit for a master bedroom suite originally listed at $1275 (now changed to $1750) on Furnished Finder. Upon arrival for the walkthrough, I discovered the master bedroom I signed for was already occupied, meaning the unit was not available. The landlord then attempted to substitute a different room (“Private Bedroom 1”) listed at $1200 that was smaller and did not match the lease. I declined, as it was not what I agreed to. When I did not accept the alternatives, the landlord referred to me as “price sensitive,” refused to issue a corrected lease, and changed pricing after the discrepancy was addressed. Despite not providing the agreed unit, the landlord retained my refundable $1000 deposit. This reflects misrepresentation, inconsistent pricing, and failure to provide the contracted unit. Verify all details before making any payment.
