True Gem - Private 1BR Basement Apartment

Wonderful Unit, Area, and Hosts

My wife and I stayed in this basement-level unit for about 3 months. Michael and Aileen were very attentive and friendly, and the whole house was well cared for. The unit is spacious with plenty of furniture and decor, and it felt pleasant and well cared for. The wi-fi in the basement may be a little spotty for some, but for both of us working from home most days it was fine. The kitchen was well stocked, even if it didn't have an oven, and the hosts even let us borrow a second microwave after the first one was giving us issues. The Fairfax/Annandale area is lovely, so much nature around, plenty of nearby grocery and other shop options.

I was so grateful to have Michael reach out when looking for housing for my contract work. I was able to coordinate time to view the property before committing and got to meet with the lady of the house. She was so warm and welcoming and I knew immediately that I would be safe and welcomed if allowed to rent. From the beginning Michael and his family had been welcoming, accommodating, responsive, and genuine. No matter if Michael is out of town or not he makes himself available and finds a way to find a solution. Being a traveler and not around family he also stood in in times of need which will never be forgotten. Truly have loved my time here. Proximity to popular places and things to do is perfect, I have great access to my gym, tennis courts, and friends in MD and other parts of VA. I will definitely be back if my life takes me back here with need for a roof over my head. I know I can say more to sing their praises so feel free to reach out if you are interested.

Beautiful spot

The location here is wonderful with hiking trails within walking distance, grocery and excellent restaurants a short drive away. Landlords were communicative and very attentive to any needs. But above all that, they were incredibly kind and respectful, which is something you don't always find these days. While away from home for long stretches, it helps to feel like you have a friend in town. The Caraangs were great. The apartment itself is clean, with everything you need to prepare meals with a full size refrigerator and four burner cook top, as well as solid complement of pots and pans, dishes and flatware. They provided a parking spot at the top of the driveway near the private entrance to the apartment.

GREAT PLACE

I stayed here for a work assignment in DC. The commute wasn't bad, less than 30 minutes. Metro station was 10 minutes away. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet and walkable. Everyone was very nice and polite. The family was very helpful and welcoming. Made me feel safe. They were also very respectful and communicative. The property was spacious and peaceful and really felt like home. I would definitely recommend staying here. I would definitely stay here again.
