I joined the military when I was 18 and knew I was going to retire at 40. I purchased 2 rental properties while I was in the service to supplement my retirement income. I recently sold both rentals in Sacramento, California (my hometown) and purchased one condo in Fort Myers and one condo in Punta Gorda. Hurricane Ian hit right after I purchased the condo in Fort Myers so that condo is 100% brand new (we lost everything but a toilet). The condo in Punta Gorda is my favorite though.
