Lovely home!

I really enjoyed my stay! I lived in this home for almost 8 months in 2024. Im a travel nurse, and it was the perfect fit for me and my friend (were both nurses). The house was very clean, nicely decorated, and well-organized it had everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly, which made our long stay even more comfortable. Jasmin was always quick to respond to my questions and even recommended some great local dining spots. My deposit was returned without any issues. I would definitely stay here again!

Renters BEWARE

I found a house by the same landlord that we wanted to move into, it was unavailable for the first few weeks so we made a deal to start here and move to the next location. Only signed a lease for this location. Upon move in, we were told we could not FLUSH our toilet paper at all. It had to be thrown in the trash. We stayed for two weeks and within that time found a large leak from the washer, that had the floor boards coming up and earwigs and bugs were crawling out from under the floorboards. We decided to fulfill our initial lease and move to a different property. The landlord then decided to keep our deposit and the pet deposit even though we fulfilled the contract and the house was in perfect condition from our pets. BEWARE! She will find any reason to keep your deposit. Said we didn't renew with her so she was keeping everything . This is not legal in the state of Illinois.

Its disappointing to see this review, especially since I have all of our text messages that clearly show the full story. From the beginning, you inquired about a property that wasnt available for the first two weeks. You chose to stay in my other property instead because, in your own words, it would be easier to stay with the same landlord. I then blocked the second property for five months at your request. The mistake I made was not collecting a full months rent deposit for the second property, because you canceled only a few days before your scheduled move-in. This was after I had already kept the unit blocked for monthsincluding during the 4th of July period, which is a prime time on Airbnb with higher rates. Per the lease you signed, a last-minute cancellation requires forfeiture of one months rent ($2,500). Instead, I only withheld $750 (your deposit and pet deposit). You acknowledged at the time that you were canceling because you found a cheaper place after discussing with your husband, and you understood the deposit policy. As for your claims about leaks or bugs, this is simply untrue. My cleaning service thoroughly cleaned and laundered everything after your stay, and when I personally returned to the property a week later, there were no leaks or plumbing issues. In fact, throughout your stay you praised me for being a responsive landlord and for how clean the property was. In fairness, you actually paid much less than the lease terms required upon cancellation. While I understand that you chose to move to a cheaper option, its also important to understand that I lost significant income by keeping the unit blocked for you. My suggestion to you is this: next time, please be transparent with the landlord of the units youll be staying in and let them know if youre actively looking for something cheaper. I also learned a lesson herecollect a full months rent deposit to hold the place, because in this situation you would not have gotten that one months rent back.
