I had a pending Travel contract for Jersey City, so I put a deposit on this place. I specifically asked about refunds of the deposit and cancellation of lease agreement if place was no longer needed before contract starts. I was told notification 2 weeks prior to move in date would be ok to cancel and get deposit back. I had to cancel my agreement 3 days after I paid deposit and signed the 3 month lease. I notified the landlord, three weeks before my scheduled move-in date. I've been sending correspondence every day for the last two weeks and the landlord has only responded twice, both times he said I'll get back with you later today and that never happened. It's been over a week now And they have gone MIA. I just want acknowledgment that the lease agreement has been canceled and that I'm getting my deposit back. I've said this many times in my correspondence and they still can't reply or won't reply.
