5 Star Barndominium - Gorgeous Horse Property

My husband and I cannot say enough great things about the Barndominium. Who wouldn't want to stay in a beautiful, clean, well-appointed space? The unit has windows surrounding the 2.5 acre property that offers views of Mt. Rose. We thoroughly enjoyed the fact this unit is situated over horse stalls housing gorgeous horses. We are respectful, clean and fun people hoping for a 5-Star experience, and we were thrilled to have received it. Allison and Randy were thoughtful, communicative landlords who provided a clean, welcoming and comfortable stay. Thank you both so much.

We had an incredible stay from start to finish. Allison and Randy are wonderful hosts who truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. From the moment we arrived, they treated us like family. The apartment is beautifully furnished, comfortable, and feels like a true home away from home. The horse farm is peaceful, scenic, and adds so much to the experience. What meant the most was their kindness—when I got the flu, Allison kept checking in to see if I needed anything. That level of care is rare. We loved everything about staying here and would absolutely come back. Highly recommend!

No Privacy, Poor Communication, and Unprofessional Host - Would Not Recommend

I moved into this barndominium on July 27 and moved out in late October. The dishwasher was broken until September 30 after multiple visits with no resolution. Each visit, my thermostat was adjusted, and I was told keeping it at 69F was beyond normal limits. Parking was inconvenient since I couldnt park inside the gate and had to carry groceries past her on-site salon. My boyfriend, also on the lease, could only park 100 yards away under a sap-dripping tree and was reprimanded for briefly parking closer. As a night shift nurse, I was repeatedly disturbed by calls, texts, and emails during my sleep, and when I didnt respond, she threatened grounds for damages. After I gave notice, she told me she didnt care if I was happy because Id signed a lease. During move-out, she threatened to have my boyfriends car towed while we were loading. Overall, constant boundary violations made this stay extremely stressful. If I could give zero stars I would.

Landlord's Summary of Experience: This tenant moved in July 27 and moved out late October. Based on the landlord's experience, the property would not be rented to this tenant again. The following reflects the Landlord's documented experience and is provided for the benefit of future housing providers. Tenant's Non-Compliance of Lease: Although the tenant reviewed and signed the lease agreement, several lease terms were not consistently followed and required repeated reminders. Unauthorized behavior included the tenant’s boyfriend repeatedly parking in unauthorized areas despite polite warnings, as well as opening the private driveway gate without permission, which created immeasurable safety risks for the Landlord's dog, as well as hanging wall decor on walls where Tenant was not authorized to do so. Utilities were also used irresponsibly, including running the air conditioning at 65° while leaving windows open during 95 degree summer weather. Communication became increasingly challenging as lease terms were enforced, including delayed responses from the tenant that impacted the Landlord's ability to make timely arrangements for future tenants. Clarification Regarding the Dishwasher: The tenant’s review of the property contains statements that do not accurately reflect the circumstances. This response is provided solely to clarify the factual circumstances of the tenancy. For example, the dishwasher remained fully operational throughout the tenancy; the only issue involved a small part being ordered to improve the soft opening mechanism of the door, which was repaired as promptly as possible once the part became available. Other complaints made by the tenant are similarly misleading; however, they will not be addressed individually in order to keep this response concise and professional. Landlord's Renting History: While this beautiful, clean, quiet new-construction barndominium is relatively new as a rental, the Landlord's have 20 years of experience owning and managing mid-range long-term rentals with a very low vacancy rate, which is largely due to maintaining reasonable rental agreements and conducting tenancies with professionalism and respect from beginning to end. This bandominium has otherwise been occupied by tenants who respected the lease terms and had excellent rental experiences and their reviews will be posted soon. In short, the Landlords have and will continue to hold high standards for the occupants of this beautiful South Reno barndominium.
