This is a duplex! The home we are renting is the basement apt. It has a lot of light and a lot of charm and is in the cutest neighborhood. There are renters upstairs so if you will occasionally hear footsteps, however, we have insulated and we do have a noise machine. It is not a problem for most unless you are a very light sleeper.
