Quiet, comfortable, nightshift friendly. Slept GREAT during the day.
I stayed here from May 12, 2025, through November 29, 2025, during a travel assignment. This beautifully renovated bed-and-breakfast private, lockable rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Mine was huge with the most luxurious shower, and it was always quiet, which mattered for night shifts. The shared kitchen was well-equipped, parking was convenient, and the landlord, Jim, responded quickly when things needed attention. He recommended sending packages to his home in Franklin for security, and willingly brought them to me. That made things easier and more secure. I felt safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I would stay again and highly recommend this property.

I contacted James about renting a room and paid him a $500 deposit. However, just a few hours before I was supposed to move in, he texted me saying that the room had already been rented to someone else. Despite multiple requests, he has not refunded my deposit. I have filed a police report regarding this matter. Please be cautious when dealing with this property and its listing. Based on my experience, it may be fraudulent or a scam. I wish I could rate him minus 5.

Clean, comfortable and peaceful
I enjoyed my stay at the Layton House. My room was large with a massive en suite. Very clean, comfort and private! The atmosphere is peaceful. I had my choice of the infrared sauna and jacuzzi. I chose and enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi after a long work week... it was just what I needed! The house is very secure and conveniently located making my daily drive to work seamless. Thank you Jim for making my stay wonderful!

I was here from February to May. Absolutely loved the place. The bedrooms were very quiet. I never heard a thing. Loved cooking in the kitchen. The place was clean and the landlord was fantastic. Any problems he would take care of right away. The place was very secure also. I would highly recommend this place. If I ever have to work in Milwaukee again I will stay here.
