Great internship stay!

I stayed with Roy over 2024 summer while interning. Roy's place is amazing and he is very accommodating. Very nice people who makes you feel welcomed. You also get your own floor with your own living room, so it is great to have privacy. The community is also very nice, quiet, and clean. Whole foods is also just a walk away, so the town is very accessible. I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you're a student coming to Charlotte to intern here.

My experience

On a positive note, location wise this place is great! It was close to everything I needed. I believe Mr. Roy did everything he could to make me feel somewhat comfortable. However, I will be very transparent that it felt like living with a parent. It felt like I was being monitored. Asking for my work schedule and tracking when I come in and out. I traveled back home, and he again asked me to notify him when I was coming back. I thought that was strange. He even made a comment that concerned me... he may have been joking. My car was parked further from his place, so you really couldn't see my car. He told me if he wanted to, he could ask his neighbors to see their ring camera to know exactly when I was leaving. Just something odd to say when I am not the most comfortable living in your space. I felt like I was very specific in my housing request, but this just was not it. I am very appreciative for him opening his space to me, but just not the place for me and that's okay.
