Cute Restored 1950s home in Up & Coming Hazel Park Area
First off Margaret was very pleasant to work with she is very quick to respond, offer suggestions, is understanding and very accommodating. She really cares about her guests having a nice stay and even wants suggestions on how to improve it. The house itself is super cute and much more space than I thought inside. My favorite room is the sunroom where I would often sit or I would sit in the nice fenced in yard with my dog while he ran around. The kitchen has restored 1950s fixture which were really cute and worked! A nice big living room to watch tv and relax at night and two nice rooms with Queen beds. I definitely felt safe in the area and would walk my dog around the neighborhood in the morning, met a few neighbors who were very nice. You can tell this is an up and coming area with new cool businesses popping up along John . I would definitely stay here again if needed and reccomend it to others as well! *correct date stay 7/21/26-8/24/26Â
Comfort and Communication Issues Proceed with Caution
I stayed at this property while on a work assignment and had a mixed experience. The home itself had several comfort issues particularly poor insulation. The bedrooms, were extremely cold despite my attempts to weatherproof the windows, along with inconsistent heating throughout the house. The floors were ice cold. There were also cleanliness concerns, including evidence of rodent droppings in the sunroom and an ant infestation that couldnt be tamed. There were multiple instances of direct accusations (regarding missing dishes and keys) that were later resolved without acknowledgment or apology. Some of the messaging felt presumptive and escalated quickly before basic checks were made. Additionally, a visit during our stay though communicated-felt intrusive, as it involved multiple family members walking through and touring the home while we were present. I would recommend future renters ask detailed questions about heating, insulation, and expectations of their privacy.
