Property is fine; landlord difficult
Home was comfortable. A couple months into our stay, the landlord began questioning our utility use saying it was higher than average. It was not.Around the same time, my father in law fell terminally ill.He was originally going to visit us for a week and go back home, but his first day turned into an ER visit and 5 night hospital admission so once he was discharged, we had him stay with us. I informed her immediately of the situation while trying to find hospice in under 15 days. She was very insistent on knowing how long he would be there and was not understanding of our situation whatsoever despite being a nurse. The landlord was only willing to amend the lease to add my dying father in law if we paid an additional $250 a month (totaling $2500) and paid the difference in utilities. The property was advertised as max occupancy of 6 people with utilities included. We had 3 people with my father-in-law.We had to find somewhere else to live with my dying FIL, which was extremely stressful.
Wonderful Home near Downtown
If you're new to Sioux Falls, this is a great neighborhood; safe and easy to feel at home in. Sophie is wonderfully helpful, and the house itself is quality throughout, with thoughtful labeling so you can find what you need. The upstairs bedrooms are the highlights, with very comfortable beds and quality bedding. The downstairs bed is simpler but works fine, and the living room sofa is especially cozy for relaxing. For anyone planning to cook or staying with more than one person, you might find it handy to bring a few extras like silverware, your favorite mug, and perhaps a pot or two you like to use. Overall, I'd gladly recommend this place and would feel lucky to stay at Sophies home again in the future.
